Westar Energy announced that they have turned on two new wind generation farms in Kansas.
The first, dubbed the Ironwood Wind Power Project, which has a 168 MW capacity, is located in Ford and Hodgeman counties. It’s also worth noting that these nacelles were built in Hutchinson, KS at the new Siemens Energy plant near US-50 and Airport Road.
The second, called Post Rock Wind Farm, is located in Ellsworth and Lincoln counties, and has a capacity of 201 MW.
With these two new additions, Westar Energy now has a total of 670 MW of renewable energy.
